2016 may be winding down, but the product improvements keep on coming. Here’s your December product update.
This month in a nutshell:
Autoplay’s new location
We received some feedback that the autoplay setting in Customize was hard to find. If you jump into your account, you’ll notice that it has a new (more intuitive) home under the Controls menu. This shift was a part of our snazzy rehaul of Customize.
Pro tip: You can make a video on any page autoplay by adding this little code snippet to the end of the URL: ?wtime=1s. To put this in context, you could send an email that includes a URL with this ending, and when recipients clicked on it, they’d arrive at a page with an autoplaying video. Magic.
Right-click from video to Stats page
It used to be that customers had to log into their accounts, find the video, and then click Stats to find out how any given video was performing. We wanted to eliminate all these unnecessary steps, so now you can access your Stats page straight from your embedded video, so long as you’re logged into Wistia.
Right-click on the video, choose “View stats in Wistia,” and a new tab will pop open with your video’s stats. Measurement has never been so easy.
Report a problem from a video
Occasionally, people watching videos report problems to our team. These problems can be painful to troubleshoot — both for you and for us Wistians.
To help all of us get through these issues, viewers can now report their problems directly from the video they’re watching by simply right-clicking and choosing “Report a problem” from the dropdown menu. Technical data about the video and viewing session will be sent straight to our team. That way we can expedite the troubleshooting process, and fix the issue before it becomes a larger problem.
Wistia app for Zendesk
We’ve seen more and more companies using Wistia-hosted videos across many of their departments and functions — marketing, recruitment, training, sales, and customer support.
In November, we rolled out a brand new integration to help customer support teams. Since Zendesk is a widely-used customer support platform, we developed a tool that lets you take advantage of your Wistia-hosted videos right inside of Zendesk.
With the Wistia app for Zendesk, you’ll be able to add videos to your support tickets, and build stronger, more human relationships with your customers.
By they way, since this is a new app, we’re very eager to get your feedback on it. So take it for a test drive, and let us know what you think! You can use the “Got feedback?” button right inside the app to share your thoughts.
Head to the Zendesk apps marketplace to learn more and install it today.
Turnstile integration with ConvertKit
Wistia’s Turnstile integrates with many email service providers, to make capturing leads and adding them to your email lists easier. In November, we added ConvertKit to our collection.
You can now connect Turnstile and ConvertKit, and send contact info you’ve collected with your videos straight into your account. Give your email lists a gift this holiday season.
